a transnational erasmus+ initiative connecting malta, madeira & cyprus to close the gender gap in island entrepreneurship
Who We Are
FEMP is an Erasmus+ KA210-ADU small-scale partnership uniting three experienced organisations across Malta, Portugal and Cyprus. Founded on a shared belief that island women face compounded barriers (geographic isolation, brain drain, and limited access to networks) we exist to change that through education, technology and solidarity.
Our Mission
Women make up 51% of Europe’s population but only 34.4% of the self-employed. Island women face even steeper odds. Our mission is to provide culturally sensitive, digitally enabled pathways for women entrepreneurs, prioritising those facing disadvantages linked to disability, migration, unemployment, or social exclusion.

01.
Project Management
The foundation of FEMP. All three partners align on goals, timelines, and quality standards to ensure smooth collaboration across Malta, Madeira, and Cyprus throughout the project’s 24 months.

Blueprint Creation Lab
A co-created Female Entrepreneurship Toolkit covering business planning, digital marketing, finance, and innovation. Available in English, Portuguese, and Greek; built by island women, for island women.

SheLeads Online Platform
Our central digital hub hosting free resources, inspiring stories, a peer forum, and event replays. Open access and fully accessible, designed to keep the community connected beyond project events.

SheLeads Conferences
Three live networking and learning events hosted in Madeira, Cyprus, and Malta. Each conference brings together women entrepreneurs, mentors, and policymakers, and is live streamed for wider reach. Our central digital hub hosting free resources, inspiring stories, a peer forum, and event replays. Open access and fully accessible, designed to keep the community connected beyond project events.

"Teach Me" Workshops
Short, practical online training sessions on digital marketing, financial literacy, pitching, and innovation. Flexible, interactive, and designed to fit around busy lives.

One to One Mentoring
Ten aspiring women entrepreneurs are matched with experienced mentors for personalised guidance. From refining a business idea to building a concrete action plan; tailored support that makes a real difference.

Targeted training in e-commerce, online marketing, and digital collaboration delivered through flexible, multilingual formats.
Priority given to women facing disability, refugee status, unemployment, minority background, or poverty — not as an afterthought, but by design.
A live community of practice spanning Malta, Madeira and Cyprus, with cross-border mentoring and three flagship conferences.
Co-created, iteratively tested resources using design thinking — not top-down content delivery.
All outputs published under Creative Commons. The SheLeads platform stays live for at least 3 years post-project.
Fully aligned with Erasmus+ KA210-ADU standards, with continuous monitoring using the Kirkpatrick evaluation model.
